Exam Process
Senior/Adult Judo
- Exams are held every three months, March, June, September and December.
- Traditionally, the exams are performed during the 3rd week of the month, but accommodations can be made if needed.
- Students will need to select a training partner to work with for their demonstration. This person cannot be a Black Belt, unless the test is for a black belt rank.
- Ranks are separated into the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert classifications. More information can be found here: Rank
Youth Judo
- Exams are held every three months, March, June, September and December.
- Traditionally, the exams are performed during the 3rd week of the month, but accommodations can be made if needed.
- Students will need to select a training partner to work with to demonstrate their kata. When possible, they should not use the same partner for every test.
- Due to our current schedule, we cannot dedicate a full youth class to kata practice, but students may be able to work on their kata on the side during class.
- Kata practice requires coordination between the student and their training partner—this collaboration is part of the process. Think of it like a group project in school; some work will need to be done outside regular class time.
